American Mirage

American Mirage documents fleeting encounters across the American landscape where architecture, signage, and fragments of the built environment take on an almost surreal presence. The photographs isolate moments that feel quietly improbable—places where scale, color, and geometry create the sense that something is slightly out of alignment with reality. Inspired in part by Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities, the series considers how the landscape accumulates layers of meaning over time, allowing ordinary structures and roadside spaces to appear momentarily uncanny.
