Fabricating Desert explores the constructed reality of the desert landscape through architecture in towns and cities across the American Southwest. Rather than focusing on iconic landmarks, the series turns to everyday buildings—supermarkets, strip malls, retirement homes, colleges, and business complexes—where architecture both disrupts and mirrors its surroundings. Isolated from their context, these structures begin to resemble the forms of the desert itself: mountains, dunes, and plains. The result is a landscape where the boundary between the natural and the constructed begins to dissolve.
