OUT WEST

Out West grew out of long drives across the American Southwest, where the highway became a vantage point for observing the landscape. Moving through Arizona and neighboring states, I became increasingly aware of the culture of the automobile—romanticized through the mythology of Route 66 and its roadside attractions. The photographs focus on the quiet remnants of that movement: motels, signs, and structures left behind as people moved on in search of something larger. What remains is a landscape marked by ambition, mobility, and the enduring traces of the American West.
